This year, Saturday 26 September is the European Day of Languages.
A Day which has been celebrated every year since 2001.
At this time, 800 million Europeans in the Council of Europe’s 47 member states are encouraged to learn more languages, at any age, in and out of school. Convinced that linguistic diversity is a tool for achieving greater intercultural understanding and a key element in the rich cultural heritage of our continent, the Council of Europe promotes plurilingualism across the whole of Europe.
So why not take this opportunity to learn a language and have fun with Route 66 Idiomas? Learn a new language or improve those you already know!
To celebrate the day, a wide variety of events are being held right across the continent: activities for children, television and radio programmes, language courses and conferences.
