The International Wind Band Contest returns to Valencia from 18 to 21 July
Route 66 Idiomas’ students who are in Valencia between Thursday 18 and Sunday 21 July should make sure they don’t miss the city’s International Wind Band Contest.
The contest is one of the oldest and most prestigious of its kind in the world. This will be its 127th edition, and the first time that bands from three continents – Europe, Asia and America – will take part.
Most of the concerts will be performed in the Palau de la Música. However, there will also be a chance to see pre-contest concerts in Mercado de Colón from Monday 15 to Wednesday 18.
Entrance to all the concerts is free but seats are limited, so turn up early to avoid disappointment.
For more information on the bands taking part – which come from all over the Valencia Region, Spain and the world – and the music they will be playing, check out the contest’s official website.
We are proud to say that the Route 66 Idiomas translation department has been translating documents for the Contest since 2009 and also providing interpreting services. This year Route 66 Idiomas will also provide guides for the bands who are coming from Japan, Austria and Singapore to take part in the Contest. The guides will accompany them from the moment they arrive in Valencia until they go home when the Contest finishes on the 21st. A R66 Idiomas interpreter will also attend the deliberations of the international jury.
We feel privileged to be able to contribute to the success of such a renowned event.
