The Catholic holiday celebrated in the city of Valencia remembers the life of Saint Vincent Martyr, one of the patron saints of Valencia.

He was persecuted, detained, interrogated and tortured by the Roman emperor, Diocletian, for being a Christian.

Not wanting to give up his faith, Saint Vincent continued to be tortured until he died in the city of Valentia on the 22nd of January, 304.

A relic is kept in the Cathedral of Valencia to remember him.

On the same day, a mass officiated by the Archbishop of Valencia takes place and a procession concludes the mass.

Route 66 invites you to enjoy this celebration.
