Very few people, and even less in the region where we live, know Manuel Vicent. This writer from Castellón has been publishing novels (“Tranvía a la Malvarosa”, “Son de mar”, among others), columns and other texts in the Spanish press for several years.

His brother Joan Antoni Vicent is less known but he is a very good photographer. And the Institut Valencià d’Art Modern (IVAM) is dedicating an exhibition of his images about the city of Valencia until Sunday 17th of February.

The peculiarity of this exhibition is that each image comes together with a small text written by his oldest brother. In these texts the writer reflects his memories about his childhood and adolescence which inspire the images (Manuel studied in the Universitat de València), and also includes ideas about the evolution of the city.“La Valencia del Tranvia” is an interesting exhibition for those who haven’t yet discovered all the corners of the city of the Turia, for those who think they have seen them all and, of course, for those who want to visit an amazing collection of instant images and tender texts. The IVAM is located on Guillem de Castro, <st1:metricconverter productid="116, in" w:st="on">116, in</st1:metricconverter> the Carmen, and opens from Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00-20:00 hrs. But if you don’t have money, go on Sunday, when it’s free.
