It was with a heavy heart this week that Route 66 said goodbye to a member of our team who had been with us from the very beginning: the trusty old photocopier.

We won’t really miss all its squeeling and beeping as it moaned about overheating and paper jams (that’s old age for you). However, we appreciate its contribution over the past six years (over 200,000 copies!) and hope it will enjoy its well-earned retirement.

On the bright side, its departure has made way for a brand new model (it will happen to us all), which hopefully will last just as long as its predecessor.

The free concert, which has previously been held in February, will once again take place in the City of Arts and Sciences complex, next to the Principe Felipe Science Museum.

Route 66 Idiomas Language school students attending the event will be able to enjoy the headline act, My Chemical Romance, as well as DJ sets by Orbital and Groove Armada.

Route 66 Idiomas Language School students shouldn’t miss out on the opportunity to see, in English, some of the films nominated for the Best Picture Oscar at this year’s Academy Awards.

At the UGC Ciné Cité (nearest metro Turía) you can catch the original versions of The King’s Speech, Black Swan and 127 Hours with Spanish subtitles.

At Cines Babel you can also see Winter’s Bone (nearest metro Aragón).

Next week Valencia will receive a glamour injection with the return of Fashion Week.

The 10th edition of Valencia Fashion Week (Autumn/Winter collections) runs from 2 to 4 February in the Ágora at the City of Arts and Sciences. The fashionistas among the students at Route 66 Idiomas language school might be interested in the late night catwalk shows, the daytime designer workshops, the “kissing bar” (!?) and an exhibition of Vogue covers.
