Bioparc
Bioparc: kids go free!
Feb 2

To celebrate its third anniversary, Valencia Bioparc is offering kids the chance to visit the zoo as many times as they like, during a whole year, for free!
Until 28 February, any adult buying an annual pass (una entrada Berde) will receive an free annual pass for a child (aged 4 – 12).
If you take your children to the Bioparc more than once a year, then this is a fantastic offer. Route 66 Idiomas language school students with children, nieces, nephews, godchildren, grandchildren, etc. should take note; spread the word to your friends too.
For more information (available in Spanish, Valencian and English), visit the Bioparc website.
Spring arrives in Valencia…
Apr 20

New arrivals are a sure sign that spring is here. Valencia’s Bioparc has just introduced its latest arrival – a baby giraffe - to the world. I say “baby”, but judging by this photo it couldn’t exactly be said to be “small”.
The new giraffe, and the first one born at the Bioparc, arrived in Fallas but has had a difficult first month. Its mother rejected him and so he has been being hand-reared by the Bioparc’s keepers and vets (hence the giant bottle in the picture). However, after learning that the giraffe gestation period is a jaw-dropping 457 days, I also sympathise with his mother!
Route 66 Language School students planning to go to the Bioparc soon will have the chance to vote to choose the giraffe’s name: visitors will be able to vote for their favourite of 4 options chosen by the staff.
